Liquids and Surfaces HW

Metal:
 1. Vegetable Oil: The diameter is 9/16''.  The oil spread out, it was the biggest in diameter and the flattest.  The oil did stay in a nice circle.

2. Soap: The diameter is 11/32''.  The soap was the smallest circle, and the third highest.  It stayed very close together and beaded off the cookie sheet more than the veg oil and olive oil.

3. Syrup: The diameter is 3/8''.   The syrup was the tallest, it beaded off the cookie sheet more than all the others.  The syrup did not spread much at all.  It was the second smallest circle.

4.  Water: The diameter is 7/16''. It became misformed and spread out into an oval.  It was the second tallest, so it did bead over however it did run a little and did not hold its shape.

5. Olive Oil: The diameter is 1/2''. It is the 2nd flattest and largest.   It is also mis-shaped slightly and did not keep its shape as well as the vegetable oil did.  It was more comparable to water.

Glass:

1. Vegetable Oil: The diameter was 19/32''.  It was mis-shapen and the flattest.   The oil seemed to be spreading out.  It was tied for the third largest circle.

2. Soap: The diameter is 9/16''.  The soap was the most circular and the liquid that seemed to keep its shape the best.  It was the third flattest.

3. Syrup: The diameter is 19/32''.  The syrup was also mis-shapen slightly.  It was also tied for the third largest/flattest circle.

4.  Water: The diameter is 23/32''.  It is the biggest and the tallest.  It was the only liquid that really beaded off the surface.

5.  Olive Oil: The diameter is 5/8''.  It is the second flattest.  The olive oil was also slightly misformed.  I found that all the liquids on the glass seemed to slide a little more, they did not keep their form as well as they did on the metal tray.

I have a graph that I will send via email.  This is the information I used to formulate the graph.
